Make Hubble Your Telescope
01.28.2009  09:00

That's right. As part of the International Year of Astronomy, the Hubble team is allowing the public to vote on which one of six targets will be imaged. The 6 target choices which have never been targeted by Hubble before are: (links open in a new window/tab)

NGC 40 - Planetary Nebula
NGC 6072 - Planetary Nebula
NGC 5172 - Spiral Galaxy
NGC 4289 - Edge-on Galaxy
NGC 6634 - Star-forming Region
Arp 274 - Interacting Galaxies

The poll deadline is March 1, 2009, so make sure to cast your vote before this time. The final image of the winner will be released by April 5th.

After you're done voting, check out the Bradford Robotic Telescope, which lets you choose what to image with a quality telescope and astrophotography setup, no voting required!
